Position Overview

Riverside Research is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer with a background in aerospace engineering to support the development and integration of software for aerospace systems. This role is ideal for recent graduates with 0-3 years of experience looking to apply their knowledge of aerospace systems, spacecraft integration and testing, and software development in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate software solutions for CubeSat and other aerospace systems, focusing on mission planning, problem decomposition, and object-based orchestration and collection.
  • Participate in the design and development of printed circuit boards (PCBs) using Autodesk EAGLE or similar tools, simulating circuit performance to improve system designs.
  • Employ software engineering skills in MATLAB, Simulink, and other relevant platforms to support the analysis of aerospace systems, including control systems analysis and aerodynamic modeling.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to conduct trade studies, optimize component functionality in low-Earth orbit, and ensure the successful integration and testing of aerospace components.
  • Leverage skills in CAD modeling (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) for the development and validation of structural designs, ensuring compliance with operational requirements.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • 0-3 years of experience in aerospace engineering, software development, or a related area.
  • Demonstrated experience with spacecraft integration and testing, including hands-on work in a clean room environment, is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in software development tools and languages relevant to aerospace systems, including MATLAB, Simulink, ANSYS, and Autodesk EAGLE.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirement definition, technical writing, and CAD modeling.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience in team leadership, public speaking, and adaptability

Desired:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance

$78,000 - $90,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
