Position Overview

Riverside Research’s Secure and Resilient Systems group is seeking a dynamic and growth focused full-time summer intern in Beavercreek Ohio. The intern will support research and development of cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies in the secure parsing domain. As a key member of our Secure and Resilient Systems team, the intern will interface with partner organizations, work on existing R&D contracts, and transition our technologies to the warfighter. The intern will interface with team members across Riverside Research locations and closely work with our contract R&D partners. 

The intern will become an integral part of a diverse team responsible for our secure parsing contracts and internal R&D. They will create and contribute to technologies to ensure protocols can be trusted when traversing untrusted networks. They will gain exposure to many domains of DoD research including language theoretic security, protocol design, zero trust, and resilient system design.

Responsibilities

  • Build tools and/or capabilities in languages like C/C++, Java, Python, etc. 
  • Explore the tenets of language theoretic security, and the tools associated with it 
  • Contribute to whitepapers and/or published papers that document innovative work performed 
  • Assist in creating innovative security solutions to secure parsing challenges 
  • Collaborate with team members on debugging programs, designing systems, reviewing papers, etc. 
  • Participate in relevant internal and customer meetings 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Pursing a degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, cybersecurity, or related field of study 
  • Some experience in programming languages C/C++ and/or Java 
  • Self-driven with strong analytic, inferencing, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills 
  • Must be a US citizen 

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Exposure to parser design/development 
  • Exposure to model-based system engineering tools 
  • Exposure to version control (Git) 
  • Some exposure to the following domains: security software engineering, open architecture security, and/or general software engineering 
  • Healthy balance between technical orientation and business acumen 
  • Ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff and peers in the group and across Riverside Research 
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills 

Global Comp

$20 - 36/hr This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
