Conduct technical analysis of a wide variety of radar engineering, sustainment and logistics problems; support of system troubleshooting efforts; management of the Program Configuration Change management for both Hardware and Software; technical support of obsolescence engineering solutions and generation of sustainment and modernization recommendations; development of requirements and evaluation of competing designs for major tech refresh development; technical analysis of proposed and ongoing hardware and software system modifications; support of integration and test; and review of performance capability assessments from recorded radar event data. The candidate is expected to have the radar experience and engineering skills to grow into a Subject Matter Expert in the long-term sustainment of the COBRA KING Radar Systems. RF design experience or a technical role in radar acquisition is highly desired. The candidate is expected to coordinate with the Government, Original Equipment Manufacturers and Designers, O&M contractors, and remote Riverside Research engineers. Prior experience in supporting a Systems Program Office (SPO) with solid understanding of USAF Acquisition, Logistics, Sustainment, T&E and maintenance processes is beneficial. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, collaborative, as well as an independent problem solver, and have strong written and oral communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. They must enjoy learning and applying new technologies, and thrive in a dynamic, customer-oriented work environment.
Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools. Stay up-to-date with current technologies and technical developments. Collaborate with IT team and developers to produce new systems. Validate changes by testing programs. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports. Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, or maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems or processes to meet requirements. Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information. Update knowledge and skills to keep up with rapid advancements in computer technology. Write detailed functional specifications that document the hardware development process and support hardware introduction. Build, test, and modify product prototypes using working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation. Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs. Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions. Develop or test models of alternate designs or processing methods to assess feasibility, sustainability, operating condition effects, potential new applications, or necessity of modification. Recommend the use of utility or energy services that minimize carbon footprints. Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design, performance specifications, or environmental regulations.
Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Requires conceptual thinking to understand advanced issues and implications. Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Accountable for results, which may impact the entire function. Creates formal networks involving coordination among groups. Focuses on providing thought leadership and works on broader organization projects, which requires understanding of wider business. Requires conveying advanced information and persuading several diverse stakeholders/audiences. Recognized internally as a subject matter expert. May direct the activities of others.
