Evaluate radar system and mission performance assessments from recorded radar event data; technical analysis of a wide variety of radar engineering, sustainment and logistics problems involving large-scale ground-based or mobile radar systems; system and mission requirements analysis; investigation, root-cause analysis, and mitigation of system and software performance anomalies; prioritization, sequencing , and technical evaluation of proposed software modifications; test support and Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V); algorithm prototyping, and simulation; assistance with system modernization and system architecture studies; assistance with technical refresh projects, including requirements updates, test planning, and test support; and other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, collaborative, as well as an independent problem solver, and have strong written and oral communication skills. They must enjoy learning and applying new technologies, and thrive in a dynamic, customer-oriented work environment.
Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools. Stay up-to-date with current technologies and technical developments. Collaborate with IT team and developers to produce new systems. Validate changes by testing programs. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports. Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, or maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems or processes to meet requirements. Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information. Update knowledge and skills to keep up with rapid advancements in computer technology. Write detailed functional specifications that document the hardware development process and support hardware introduction. Build, test, and modify product prototypes using working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation. Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs. Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions. Develop or test models of alternate designs or processing methods to assess feasibility, sustainability, operating condition effects, potential new applications, or necessity of modification. Recommend the use of utility or energy services that minimize carbon footprints. Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design, performance specifications, or environmental regulations.
Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of information requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Devises solutions based on limited information and precedent and adapts existing approaches to resolve issues. Uses evaluation, judgment, and interpretation to select right course of action. Work is done independently and is reviewed at critical points. Enhances relationships and networks with senior internal/external partners who are not familiar with the subject matter often requiring persuasion. Adapts style to differing audiences and often advises others on difficult matters.
