Position Overview

Organizes and implements a variety of responsibilities related to the flow of materials, products, services and associated systems information. Duties involve but are not limited to supply chain services, inventory control, critical parts availability, material handling, import-export licensing, shipment of products, and third party warehousing. Evaluates customer support and field service commitments to ensure customer requirements are met. Serves as liaison between sales and operations teams to develop concepts and coordinate product knowledge; provides data analysis for production planning and volume studies; and participates in process/rating improvement efforts. Assists in developing logistics plans and procedures. Companies may or may not have a logistics function. In all instances, refer also to Materials Planner, Inventory Control, Buyer/Planner-Commodity, Traffic and Import/Export.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a Logistics Manager for a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program
  • Provides logistics support for Tactical Airbourne Surveillance System (TASS) platform  
  • Develops/defines program logistical requirements for man-power, spares, and infrastructure support  
  • Provides logistics management oversight of program supply and transportation functions
  • Responsible for cradle-to-grave life-cycle sustainment of all FMS program Primary Mission
  • Equipment assets
  • Manage/oversee all program COMSEC processing, handling, and issue movement in/out of depot
  • Conducts analysis of program spares postures and advises program leadership of program requirements
  • Enforces shipping compliance w/Department of State and Department of Commerce polices/guidance
  • Oversees contractor DTR compliance when shipping classified, sensitive, and pilferable material assets - Develops/presents logistics/data briefings to senior customer, contractor, and government personnel asrequired
  • Performs in-depth logistical Technical Evaluations for program contracts identifying ways to cut costs  
  • Validates new FMS platform/system spares packages to ensure material requirements are procured
  • Enforces compliance w/procedures outlined in DAFI 23-101, DAFMAN 23-122, & AFH23-123
  • Research and provide requests for logistics/data information to support contract execution as required
  • Charged with the set-up/continuous improvement of program internal logistics management processes
  • Responsible for all life-cycle logistical sustainment/support for TASS aircraft and ground systems
  • Ensures program support contractors comply with FX2369 Logistics Support Plans (LSPs) Part 1 & 2
  • Conducts depot/field contractor site LSP compliance inspections enforcing strict DOD/USAF guidance
  • Prepares depot/field inspection reports identifying areas for improvement and recommended solutions
  • Manages the Big Safari Inventory (BSI) supply system supporting program at depot/off-site(s)
  • Provides contractors BSI and AF Integrated Logistics System-Supply system training as required
  • Overseas all depot/off-site hazardous material distribution and shipment to world-wide support site(s)
  • Institutes LG practices for commercial packing/Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR) guidance
  • Directs proper disposal of FMS property ensuring assets are reutilized per strict DoD guidance/policy
  • Oversees accurate cataloging of part numbers and/or national stock numbers to procure/repair assets
  • Responsible for program logistics personnel performing 100% tracking/accountability of property
  • Ensures FMS Govt property in BSI is inventoried per designated frequencies outlined in DAFI 23-101

Qualifications

  1. Citizen of USA
  2. Secret security clearance w/ability to attain Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  3. Bachelor’s Degree or 15 years equivalent of logistical experience.
  4. At least 5 years of logistical experience in DoD acquisition, warehousing, and supply policies. 
  5. Must have working knowledge of DoD/USAF regulations concerning supply chain management.
  6. Must communicate, orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
  7. Must be able to conduct logistical analyses and provide clear corrective actions/recommendations.
  8. Must be familiar with logistics-related FAA/MIL standards.
  9. Must be knowledgeable of the Defense and Federal Acquisition Regulations.
  10. Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office products.
  11. Must be able to travel both domestic and international as required

Global Comp

$125,000-$140,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
