Position Overview

The Visiting Faculty Researcher in Cyber Security and Network Analysis will contribute to advanced research and academic initiatives focused on securing digital infrastructures and analyzing complex networked systems. This position is designed for scholars with demonstrated expertise in cyber security, network science, or related fields who seek a temporary academic appointment to collaborate with the national defense industry. 

 

The visiting researcher will engage in independent and collaborative research addressing topics such as network vulnerability assessment, threat detection, intrusion analysis, secure network architectures, data-driven security analytics, and emerging cyber threats. 

Responsibilities

The Visiting Faculty Researcher will conduct independent and collaborative research in cyber security and network analysis in support of national defense and security missions. Responsibilities include designing and executing applied research projects, analyzing complex cyber and networked systems, developing models and analytical tools to assess threats and vulnerabilities, and translating research findings into actionable insights for policy, operational, or strategic stakeholders. The researcher will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to technical reports and briefings, and support the organization’s mission by advancing innovative, evidence-based approaches to cyber defense.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Travel to customer sites to support in-person engagements
  • Coordinate, shape, and execute Business Development activities
  • Writing and evaluating proposals for independent research and development (IRAD) as well as externally funded research activities
  • Actively participate in strategy development of the overall group
  • Mentoring staff of varying career levels 

Qualifications

Required:

  • A minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 8 years with a Master’s degree, a PhD with 5 years’ experience, or equivalent experience is typically required for an employee at this level.
  • Thorough understanding of wireless network, protocols
  • Demonstrated research in the area of Wireless Network performance

Global Comp

$75,000 - $175,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
