Position Overview

Riverside Research’s Secure and Resilient Systems group is seeking a dynamic full-time junior summer intern in Beavercreek Ohio. As a key member of our Secure and Resilient Systems team, the intern will contribute to our cyber security research lab operations and support cutting edge research that secures advanced systems from cyber security vulnerabilities. The intern will interface with team members across Riverside Research locations.  This position is for the summer of 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in lab management, including ideating on better ways to automate aspects of lab management, organize assets, and enable the team to better share resources
  • Work closely with embedded systems, 3d printers, large scale computing nodes, and computer networks to enhance the operation of the lab to support our research team
  • Work with the research team to identify better ways to document lab configurations and use of equipment, develop custom applications, and enable smooth configuration and setup of new lab equipment
  • Build tools and/or capabilities in languages like C/C++, Python, etc.
  • Participate in relevant internal meetings

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Excited to explore the fields of computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, cybersecurity, or related field of study
  • Some familiarity with programming languages
  • Self-driven with strong analytic, inferencing, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills
  • High School student finishing Junior or Senior year in 2026
  • Must be a US citizen

Desired Qualifications:

  • Some experience in C/C++ and/or Python
  • Some experience with Linux development environments
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3D printing
  • Desire to learn technical skills alongside how the business operates
  • Ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff and peers in the group and across Riverside Research
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Global Comp

$18.00 - $20.00 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
