Position Overview

The Tools & Techniques (T2) Team is seeking a Development, Security & Operations (DevSecOps) Engineer to support the deployment of applications to Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) networks. The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting and optimizing our product deployments, gaining software certificates to operate on secure networks, and executing deployment strategies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering valuable solutions to users and is interested in advancing their career in software deployment and production environments. 

The DevSecOps Engineer will provide the link between Air Force Research and Development (R&D) and Operations efforts. DevSecOps Engineer will ensure R&D tools integrate into an operational platform, meeting all technical and security requirements. The engineer will provide support to senior team members and will execute required updates for the operational platform.  

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and execute software product deployments by collaborating with developers in writing Helm charts, or docker-compose.yaml files to deploy applications on-prem and/or cloud-based environments 
  • Coordinate and take leading role in Authority to Operate (ATO) process to ensure developed tools meet security requirements for deployment into DoD operational environments 
  • Assist in automating and optimizing delivery and deployment of software products via Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines 
  • Integrate security measures into applications to gain approvals and certificates to operate within custom secure network environments 
  • Work/coordinate with multiple platform teams (i.e., customer, commercial, and company internal) 
  • Help product road map planning by communicating delivery and deployment dependencies and timelines 
  • Help orchestrate product integration with an emphasis on providing proactive identification and resolution of product dependencies and conflicts 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance with SCI adjudication (sponsorship for clearance available) 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or other related field of study 
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in software production environment 
  • Experience with Docker and Podman 
  • Experience working on deployment environments including virtual machines 
  • Experience with Python or similar languages 
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, responsible team player able to work independently with minimal daily direction; effective/efficient written/verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to work and interact with technically and organizationally diverse personnel 

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Master's Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or other related field of study 
  • Experience with ATO process 
  • Experience writing Helm Charts and using container orchestration applications including Kubernetes 
  • Experience with Docker Compose 
  • Experience with Argo Project or Argo CD 
  • Experience managing and maintaining Linux servers 
  • Experience working/developing in multi-domain, multi-cloud, hybrid-cloud environments 
  • Experience deploying applications on SIPRNet and JWICS 
  • Experience working with cloud environments like AWS and/or Azure 
  • Familiarity with National Air and Space Intelligence Center’s Mission Readiness Environment (MRE) 
  • Familiarity with National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s Research Laboratory Environment (RLE) 
  • Familiarity with Army Cloud 
  • Security+ training/certification CompTIA

$65,000 - $80,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
